The next big Apple Event is taking place later today, Monday 18 October, and it's looking increasingly likely that we'll get our first look at the hotly anticipated redesigned MacBook Pro range, and possibly even the long-rumoured AirPods 3 after a no-show at the iPhone, iPad and Watch-focused September event.
With that in mind, it could be one of the biggest Mac launches of the year, and as usual, you'll be able to tune in from the comfort of your own home.
So, when does it kick off and how can you watch the whole thing live? We cover all you need to know about Apple's October 2021 event right here.
When is the next Apple event?
As confirmed by the tech giant, the next Apple event is due to take place today, Monday 18 October 2021 at 10am PDT/1pm EDT, or 6pm BST for those of us tuning in from the UK. As ever, it's set to be broadcast from Apple Park in California, and it's likely that it'll be a pre-recorded affair like with most recent Apple events.
How can I watch the next Apple event live?
Just like virtually every other Apple event, you'll be able to watch the action unfold in real-time. While Apple once required the use of Safari or an Apple product to watch its livestreams, it has dropped the barriers in recent years, allowing basically anybody on any device to tune in to its events via the Apple website.
You'll be able to watch the October Event via the Apple Event website, as well as via the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac, and you'll also be able to tune in to the announcement via its YouTube channel too.
We've embedded the official live stream at the top of the page for ease, so simply bookmark this page and head back on the day to see what Apple has planned.
What should I expect from Apple's October 2021 event?
With Apple updating the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch in September 2021, that doesn't leave many options left for the October event, making it a little easier to predict what to expect.
The headline of the event is expected to be the new MacBook Pro range, sporting the next-gen Apple Silicon chip unofficially dubbed the M1X along with a refreshed design with slimmer bezels and, in the case of the traditional 13in model, a jump to 14in.
There are plenty of rumours that point towards an October announcement from the likes of Ming-Chi Kuo, Jon Prosser and Mark Gurman, making it a near-certainty that we'll see the new laptops at the October event. We cover all you need to know about the redesigned MacBook Pro separately if you're interested in finding out more ahead of its official reveal.
But what else? The MacBook Pro range is rumoured to appear alongside third-gen AirPods, sporting a more compact design not too dissimilar to the AirPods Pro but without the 'pro' features, and they might be able to track your exercise too.
There's also a slim chance that Apple could tease the redesigned MacBook Air and possibly the rumoured 'Big' 32in iMac, but considering those aren't slated for release until mid-2022, it's unlikely. It would be a nice 'One More Thing' moment though, right?
